Level 3 Manufacturing Textiles (ABC Awards)

This is a competence based qualification that is delivered and assessed in the workplace for those involved in a wide variety of textile manufacturing and processing operations. This can be in any aspect of textile production, knitting, weaving, dyeing and finishing and all other associated processes such as quality control or packaging.

It recognises the skills and knowledge expected of a skilled technician, supervisor or team leader working in the industry, covering the essential aspects of their job and forms part of the Advanced Apprenticeship in Textiles

The qualification is unit based enabling it to be designed to cover individual needs, these could include.

 


  • Health and Safety
  • Quality systems and procedures
  • Configuring and setting up machinery
  • Monitoring and maintaining production machinery
  • Product development
  • Developing colour and finishing recipes
  • Sample analysis
  • Planning and controlling production
  • Communication and record keeping
  • Leading work teams
