Apprenticeships, QCF (NVQs) and Training

Apprenticeships are the Governments preferred route to skilled employment for young people.

 
They are intended to provide an integrated programme of learning leading to the acquisition and application of the skills, knowledge and understanding required by employers.
 
The following are essential content for all apprenticeship frameworks 
 
  • A competence based element (NVQ/QCF)
 
  • A knowledge based element
 
  • Transferable Skills - Key or functional skills in Communication and application of Number and in some frameworks ICT
 
All aspects are delivered on the employer’s premises around the apprentice’s work role with a variety of learning mediums such as coaching, distance learning and small group sessions employed to suit the individual employer/ apprentice’s circumstances.
